Privacy

This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. The basket is kept in your browser and is not sent to us until you place an order. We learn something about you only when you write to us, subscribe to the correspondence, or buy a bottle. What we learn, we keep for as long as we need it and no longer.

We follow the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. Where you order from the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation applies as well.

The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web server, it records the address of your connection, the page requested and the time, for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept briefly and then deleted.

The contact form, the trade enquiry and the correspondence sign-up are handled by Netlify Forms. We keep what you send for as long as it takes to reply, and your email address for the correspondence until you ask us to stop. Every letter we send has a way to do that.

The typefaces are served from this site itself. No request goes to a third party when a page loads.

The basket is stored in your browser only, using local storage. Clearing your browser data empties it. Nothing about it reaches us until you proceed to checkout.

When you proceed to checkout, you move to our shop at shop.mr-chili.com, which runs on Shopify. Shopify processes your name, address, email address, order and payment details on our behalf, and sets the cookies the checkout needs to work. Payment is taken by the provider you choose at checkout. We never see your full card number.

Order records are kept for ten years, as Swiss commercial law requires for accounting documents.

Reviews in the shop are collected through Judge.me. If you leave one, the name and the words you give are published with it.

The shop has a privacy notice of its own, which covers Shopify’s part in detail. You will find it at shop.mr-chili.com under Policies.

To deliver a parcel we pass your name and address to Swiss Post or, outside Switzerland, to the carrier we use for your country. They use it for delivery and for nothing else.

Nobody, beyond the providers named on this page. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose it only where the law obliges us to.

You may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Where the GDPR applies, you may also ask for a copy in a portable form. Write to hello@mr-chili.com and a person will answer.

You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or, in the European Union, to the authority in your country.
